Things to do.

  • Bicycle Tours

Rent a bike at St. Helena Cyclery and take in the beautiful scenery and maybe even wine taste by pedaling around

  • Wine Tours

The safest away to get around and wine taste is by hired car or Uber (best to schedule ahead). Hire a vehicle or get a tour planned for you by reaching out to Beau Wine Tours or Safe Ride Wine Tours. Here are some of our favorite wineries in the Valley:

Theorem (very exclusive, stunning new tasting room, dreamy views)

O'Shaunnessy (long drive but beautiful and one of the most outstanding cellar collections of the history of Napa wine)

Barnett (long drive but super quiet and gorgeous through California oak trees)

Hall (for wine and an incredible art collection)

Pride (beautiful to bring your own picnic)

CADE (stunning valley views, request outdoors)

Titus (gorgeous outdoor patio overlooking the vineyards)

  • Coffee and Breakfast

Some favorite stops for coffee, breakfast or pastries are The Station, Brasswood (you may spot a local winemaker here at this off the beaten path spot), Model Bakery (a staple in St. Helena) or Sam’s General Store (a transplant from the successful Calistoga cafe).

  • Gondola Ride

Besides wine tasting, Sterling Vineyards also offers an iconic gondola ride above the vineyards. Visit their website for details on hours and pricing.

  • Day Trip

If you have a rental car, we suggest venturing up to Calistoga or down to Yountville or Napa if time. Each town/city within the Napa Valley offers their own unique “flavor” and attractions that are worth a visit if you’re staying more than two days. For instance, Calistoga is known for their hot springs and mud baths!

  • Dining

Besides wine, the Napa Valley is known for their culinary experiences. Some local favorites in St. Helena are: Longmeadow Ranch, Press, Violetto and The Market. If you’re looking for a quick sandwich, you must stop at Giugni’s Deli. Don’t forget to pretend you’re a local and ask for “Guigni juice” added to your sando.

If you’re adventuring outside of St. Helena proper and visiting other towns in the Valley, some of our favorite spots also include:

    Mustards

    Oakville Grocery

    Oxbow Public Market

    Brix

    Rutherford Grill
